The Institute for new Culture Technologies launched PUBLIC NETBASE
in early 1995. It is a public access provider and web server for
more than 1200 groups and individuals working in various cultural
areas. AS an internationally acknowledged content developer, it
attracts more than 1,7 million page impressions per month.
The organization runs a comprehensive event and information program
in the Vienna "Museumsquartier". Its existence has fostered
the growth of a stimulating and lively internet scene and has increased
awareness of the implications of new communication and information
technologies.
